Our Mission

ICA’s philosophy – maximizing the participation of people in the process of taking responsibility for their own lives and for society as a whole – is manifested through its community-based approach to planning and to identifying and addressing issues that most affect community members. For over forty years, ICA has effectively helped people help themselves. Youth as Facilitative Leaders (YFL) is a program designed to transfer the skills, knowledge and experience of Facilitative Leadership to young people across Canada.

'Listen to the drumming' is an initiative of ICA Canada, in partnership with other ICA organizations including African ICA groups, to intensify the response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. Activities include providing immediate support, resources and funding to update, expand and extend HIV/AIDS programming in sub-Saharan Africa.
