Pledge to make a difference, together.
The term homeless is very difficult to define or categorize when dealing with a population estimated to be around thirty thousand in the Montreal area. Many organizations become involved at different stages and many agree that re-integration into a social environment is not only desirable but practical for all concerned. Isolation is not an option at Nazareth house.
All our residents live within a block of the main residence. Although we encourage autonomy as much as possible. We expect our residents to participate in the daily tasks at the home and join in on the meals as in a family-like situation.
Nazareth House believes in a collaborative process involving the person with mental distress, the family, the staff, volunteers, and outreach members, such as health professionals and social workers. The intervention provided must also reflect the unique needs of the individual, thus promoting respect, dignity and autonomy.
