Pledge to make a difference, together.
In 1976, a group of citizens launched the process to establish a community services centre in Vanier. In November 1980, the Vanier Community Service Centre was opened to the public. The first office was set-up at 6 Beechwood Avenue, with all 4 employees!
Today, the Vanier Community Service Centre employs over 50 people. A further group of 13 service providers work out of the Centre but are employed by various agencies. This method allows them a greater accessibility by the Vanier population.
The Vanier Community Service Centre is a not for profit organization operated by a Board of Directors, employees and volunteers.
The Vanier Community Service Centre cooperates with 13 other health and community resource centres as well as other organizations from the Ottawa-Carleton area. The Centre and its Agencies offer more than twenty social and health programs to the Vanier population and its immediate neighbourhood.
