Pledge to make a difference, together.
The Aurora Historical Society was established in 1963 by a group of local residents who were interested in the town's rich history. The group began collecting artefacts, advocating for the preservation of heritage buildings, and holding regular meetings with speakers on a wide variety of historic topics. For the past 50 years AHS has been the only collecting institution in Aurora and has enjoyed many successes; preventing the demolition of the Church Street School building and opening the town's only museum are two examples.
Today, the Society owns and operates Hillary House National Historic Site in the heart of Aurora. AHS regularly shares new exhibits, unique heritage programming and a variety of events with the community.
