Women who live with violence and abuse, who struggle to feed and shelter their families or who lack the resources and skills they need to move forward, face a great challenge. For many women, knowing they're not alone provides the hope and support needed to move forward.
Since 1977, Women's Centre of York Region has offered a safe place where women can turn for help. We offer a variety of support services and programs to women in transition. We assist women in making better choices for change - from abuse to individual power, and from economic dependence to self-sufficiency.
Our clients are courageous women from all cultural, social, ethnic and economic backgrounds who are living with abuse - physical, emotional, mental or sexual, struggling to feed and clothe their families, raising families on their own or seeking entrepreneurial and employment development training.
