Our Mission

Cultural Interpretation Services for Our Communities (CISOC) is a registered charitable organization which offers interpretation and translation services to Ottawa’s immigrant communities as well as to the social services, medical, and legal agencies that serve immigrants. Incorporated in 1993 and governed by a voluntary board of directors, CISOC was created with the goal of facilitating equal access to community services for non-English- and non-French-speaking immigrant communities by providing high-quality language assistance. Our services are provided 24 hours every day, all year. Currently, we respond to approximately 1,300 requests for interpretation each month.
