Connections is a truly unique organization in Calgary with its provision of long-term support to parents with an intellectual disability and their children. Family support includes in-home parenting education and support, a social support program for parents with intellectual disabilities and family fun events. In addition, Connections provides individual counselling to adults with intellectual disabilities and individual counselling to a parents of children with intellectual disabilities.
We are committed to the belief that persons with disabilities have worth and can contribute in a valuable way to the community. We further believe that parents with an intellectual disability can provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for their children.
Connections and partnering agencies offer Sibshops, (and administers this program)- fun groups for children and teens who have a sibling with special needs.
