Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region is a non-profit, non-denominational housing organization. We welcome partners without discrimination to help us build simple, decent and affordable homes to help struggling families who do not qualify for a typical mortgage to achieve the dream of homeownership. Habitat partner families contribute 500 hours of "sweat equity" to our organization and then repay a no interest mortgage with 0 down payments. Mortgage costs are kept low to 25% of their family income by using volunteer labour and donations of funds and building materials. Mortgage payments are continually recycled to build more homes in our community.
