Bridges Social Development (“Bridges”) is a non-profit organization that was established and registered as a Canadian charity in 2003. Bridges was created for the purpose of capacity building and training of community, professional and youth leaders in have-not communities where the organization has been invited. Bridges does not invest in capital assets, only in the building of human capacity.
Bridges works through relationships to support community development, and has been invited to train and mentor youth leaders in social entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Specific invitations are coming from Aboriginal communities in Canada, as well as immigrant and refugee communities. The focus of our work is to invest in people, and connect them (build bridges) to the resources necessary for them to take care of themselves and their communities.
