Pledge to make a difference, together.
Supportive Housing of Waterloo (SHOW) is a not-for-profit charitable corporation, with a mandate to build and operate permanent, affordable, supportive housing for people approaching or experiencing persistent homelessness in Waterloo Region. Thirteen churches and faith groups in Waterloo founded SHOW. Their first project on Erb Street in Waterloo was completed and occupied in June 2010.
SHOW's "Housing First" model addresses the growing homelessness crisis within our Region, based on the belief that factors contributing to homelessness (mental health, addictions, literacy, unemployment and poor physical health) can best be addressed when a person is living in stable and supportive housing. A thirty (30)-unit self-contained apartment complex with affordable rent opened at 362 Erb St. West, Waterloo. Attendant staff provide 24/7 support services in order to facilitate independent living for all tenants.
