Pledge to make a difference, together.
Phakamani Foundation helps families lift themselves out of poverty. We provide microenterprise loans, training, and on-going support for poor entrepreneurs, leading to stable incomes, savings and hope.
Phakamani means "rise up" in Zulu, and is pronounced, "pug-ah-ma-nee". Phakamani Foundation presently operates in the poorest areas of Southern Africa. We empower poor people who have both good ideas and initiative by giving them a series of business loans, starting as low as $100 to as high as $1500. Success for our members will mean that they no longer fret about most of the things that most westerners take so for granted: a roof that does not leak, at least 2 nutritious meals a day for their family, the ability to pay school fees and books, access to a local health clinic, etc.
