Wishes are more than just nice. They are necessary. Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with illnesses a higher chance of survival. For some, a wish is incentive to comply with treatments so they can get healthy enough to experience their wish. For others, it's a distraction; something positive to look forward to.
When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope.
Right now, they could fill seven school buses with the number of children who are waiting for a wish.
