The American Chestnut Foundation has one simple goal: to restore the American chestnut to its native forests. Destroyed by an imported blight many consider the worst environmental disaster of the twentieth century, the American chestnut was virtually eliminated from the eastern hardwood forest between 1904 and 1940. With its loss, wildlife populations plummeted; never to return to former levels. With recent developments in genetics, there is promise that this critically important wildlife food source and timber tree will again become part of our natural heritage. To make this possibility a reality, a group of prominent scientists, in 1983, established the non-profit research-oriented American Chestnut Foundation (TACF). The Foundation's mission is simple: to restore the American chestnut as an integral part of the eastern forest ecosystem. TACF is employing traditional plant breeding techniques, backed by advanced research methods, to develop a blight resistant American chestnut tree. TACF is restoring a species - and in the process, creating a template for restoration of other tree and plant species.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO SAVE THE LIVES OF CATS AND DOGS WHO HAVE UNFORTUNATELY FOUND THEMSELVES IN HIGH RATE EUTHANIZING ANIMAL SHELTERS THROUGHT THE UNITED STATES. THESE ANIMALS FIND THEMSELVES IN THESE TYPE OF SHELTERS DUE TO ABUSE, NEGLECT, BECOMING HOMELESS, OR BEING SURRENDERED BY THEIR OWNERS.

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue is a positive, professional 501c3 rescue organization that helps our community and shelter partners save more animals, more quickly by rescuing them, temporarily caring for them in our excellent, supportive foster homes and matching them with fantastic adopted pet parents.As one of the nation’s largest foster based animal rescue groups, with bases of operation in both Ohio and New York City, we cover a large section of the midwest and northeast. We place a high priority on the quality of care, including both medical and behavioral support, for all of our animals We also value and honor the contributions of the hundreds of wonderful people and organizations who support Louie’s Legacy in our lifesaving work.

The mission of Shelter from the Storm Animal Rescue is to reduce the euthanasia rate of healthy and adoptable animals and improve the lives of companion pets.

The Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc. was founded by a group of residents of Schoharie county disturbed by the plight of the many straved, abused and stray animals in this area.ASSV is a not for profit, NO KILL organization  & is made up of all volunteer members & board of directors, with the exception of the shelter manager & kennel workers.The goal of ASSV has been to try to aleviate stray animal suffering & to build a shelter to house, feed & care for these animals until safe & loving homes are foundfor them.  We are providing space in the new building to house a low cost spay/neuter clinic.ASSV also strives to educate the public to spay & neuter their pets to eliminate the problem of unwanted offspring.

The SPCA of East Texas rescues, fosters, rehabilitates and adopts homeless pets from our community. We provide affordable spay/neuter and vaccination services at our SNIPPET Clinic. Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals and reduce pet overpopulation.
