Logans Run Rescue

Logan’s Run Rescue is a volunteer‑run animal rescue in western North Carolina that provides low‑cost spay/neuter programs across the tri‑state region (western NC, northern GA, eastern TN), rescues and medically cares for abandoned and stray dogs and cats, and places them in permanent homes; much of its funding/support comes from a thrift store and warehouse run by volunteers.

Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (LARC)

LARC offers permanent sanctuary to rescued wolves, wolfdogs, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, parrots, pigs, horses, and dogs. LARC is also a work therapy program for disabled veterans with war-related trauma which is called our Warriors and Wolves program. These veterans work with similarly traumatized, rescued animals who reside at our sanctuary. The unique relationship that develops is immensely therapeutic for both species. Employment at LARC allows the veterans a transitional period to regain their confidence and learn valuable skills for future permanent employment.
