Angels Of Assisi

Angels of Assisi seeks to change the traditional definition of an animal shelter by offering services and programs to benefit the community, the people that live there, and the pets they love. The organization operates the largest private animal shelter in the Roanoke Valley, as well as a low cost Community Pet Clinic and farm animal sanctuary. Through the Community Pet Clinic and Adoption Center, Angels of Assisi is able to provide resources to pet owners to keep their pets happy and healthy. The adoption center puts emphasis on these services to help people be able to keep their pets over turning them in to the shelter. Angels of Assisi strives to be a resource to the community and also offers services to area and rural shelters to help end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets.

Friends Of Fish

The goal of this organization is to teach the youth about the ocean, how it affects our daily lives and how to respect it. It is also to explain the importance of sustainable fishing and how to practice it effectively. We do this by offering free fishing opportunities for underprivileged youth from title 1 schools. We want to help the new generation be able to make a positive impact on society and the environment and to teach them to spread their knowledge to those around them. We hope to inspire young people to practice these methods of sustainability on their own time and overall make the world a better place.

Plenty of Pitbulls

Plenty of Pit Bulls works to save the lives and improve the quality of life of dogs in Alachua County, Florida, and surrounding areas. We do so by rescuing dogs at risk of euthanasia at shelters in north central Florida. We are also a rescue partner for the ASPCA and in that capacity we take in dogs from national cruelty cases. Our organizational mission focuses on dogs who are labeled “pit bulls,” a broad category that encompasses a large proportion of the dogs in shelters in our area. However, we also rescue and assist dogs of many different breeds and types. We also work to strengthen human communities and the bond between humans and animals through owner support, shelter support, and collaboration with organizations that help people and animals in need.

Animals
Tails Of Joy

Our mission is to make the world better for animals. We financially help the smallest, neediest rescue groups across America, and beyond. We help support the groups who do great hands-on rescue work, but are too small to fundraise in a big way, or get grants, and would fall through the cracks without us. We help people with pet financial emergencies. We also network and provide temporary assistance, boarding, medical care, pull fees, and transport, for desperate animals. We have a designated Spay/Neuter fund which awards "Little Guy Grants" for TNR and low income needs. We campaign and network for more humane laws in all areas concerning animal welfare. We are the place to go when there is nowhere else to turn, and exponentially have saved thousands of lives since we began.
