The Washington State Horse Park is a 501c(3) Non-Profit Organization with the mission to build, promote, operate and sustain the premier destination for horse activities in the Pacific Northwest. The Horse Park is the premier equestrian facility in Washington state, serving the recreational, competitive and educational needs of riders and horse enthusiasts in all disciplines, age groups and skill levels. Founded in 1902, the mission of the SPCA of Tompkins County is to protect companion animals. We are the first open-admission, no-kill shelter in the country dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation. not only do we steward animals, but the environment as well. our “green” shelter, known as the Dorothy and Roy Park Pet Adoption Center, was LEED- Certified Silver in 2004—the first shelter to achieve this status in the united States. our best practices in shelter operations and programs serve as effective examples for other shelters across the country striving to achieve no-kill status. We strive to foster a community in which the need for sheltering abandoned, neglected and homeless and abused animals is diminished; and we work ceaselessly to place medically and behaviorally healthy, treatable or manageable animals in loving homes. We provide leadership in cruelty investigation initiatives, educational outreach, and pet population control. We promote responsible pet stewardship by providing behavioral issues-counseling as needed for adopted animals and their owners, as well as behavior training for shelter dogs to increase adoption rates and ultimately nurture and enhance the human-animal bond.

A Veteran's Best Friend

A Veteran’s Best Friend is a Christian nonprofit that provides and trains service dogs for Veterans of all faiths with PTSD, at no cost to the Veteran. We were founded in 2012 by a PTSD therapist and a dog trainer who saw a need to train and match service dogs with Veterans with PTSD - without a lengthy waiting list and without requiring the Veteran to pay between $20,000-30,000. We are a volunteer-based organization that adopts its dogs from local shelters, rescues, and our community. As of April 2022, we have certified over 50 Veteran/Service Dog teams since our beginning!

Forget Me Not Animal Rescue

Forget Me Not Animal Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that believes all animals deserve a forever loving home. It is our mission to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless animals. We work tirelessly to save and rehabilitate both physically and mentally abused animals. Every animal is given as much time and care as needed. We strive to help and educate the public on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership, and the humane treatment of all these wonderful animals”. We accept owner surrenders at our own discretion.

Lost Pet Services

Lost Pet Services, Inc. is a highly dedicated volunteer-based organization that reunites lost pets with their families through systematic, free pet recovery services and educational resources in the Sarasota and Manatee counties area. All services provided are free of charge to our community.  By providing microchipping, ID tags, financial support to those struggling with shelter fees, emergency vet care for injured stray pets and temporary kennel care for strays, we are able to keep more family pets out of the overcrowded local shelters and home safe with their families. As Gandhi said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
