The work of our Foundation is carried out by volunteers in order to keep our administrative costs at a minimum,and to ensure that funds are directed to the beneficiaries of our projects. We also encourage our beneficiaries to share the gifts and participate in the projects administered by our Foundation.
The Greater Saint John Community Foundation serves as a trustee for charitable, educational and cultural purposes. It administers funds given by the public-spirited individuals for the benefit of the people of this area. Since 1976, the Foundation’s assets have grown to approximately $9 M. The endowments encompass fifty distinct funds, all of which benefit Greater Saint John.
The White Coats Black Doctors Foundation is a nonprofit (501c3) organization whose purpose is to increase diversity in the medical profession by supporting the development of future black physicians.
Since its founding in 1979 the Foundation has focused on providing scholarships to emerging musicians in the greater Edmonton-area. During this time more than $700,000 has been provided to over 70 developing artists to support their post-secondary music studies. The Foundation is 100% volunteer operated and managed. Dr. Anne Burrows, the Foundation’s founder, was a noted educator, journalist, broadcaster and music teacher. She served on the University of Alberta Senate and was awarded the Province of Alberta’s Achievement Award for Excellence in Music as well as an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta. Dr. Burrows is an inductee into the Edmonton Cultural Hall of Fame and the Order of Canada. After devoting a lifetime of encouragement and support for young musicians, Dr. Burrows, who passed away in 2007, continues to inspire the Anne Burrows Music Foundation to pursue providing scholarship awards to musical talents in Alberta’s Capital Region.
The Heart of the Crown Mission is Education The ultimate goal of the foundation is to build an outstanding education and mentoring program for dozens of recipients each year, making a critical difference in advancing their artistic and music career development.
The Foundation's mission is, in collaboration with our partners the City of San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly State University, to promote and provide an accessible and extraordinary center for the performing arts that elevates the arts in our community.
In addition to fundraising, The University of Winnipeg Foundation manages a $40 million Endowment Fund that provides support to scholarships, bursaries, projects and programs, helping to ensure dynamic possibilities for The University of Winnipeg and Collegiate and their students for years to come.
Kids Helping Kids is recognized as a charitable foundation (charitable registration number 82682 5341 RR0001) to make donations to qualified donnees under the Income Tax Act (Canada) that benefit boys and girls under 18 years of age, whether to help with education, or to help those who are underprivileged.
CIFO fosters cultural understanding and educational exchange through three primary initiatives: a Grants and Commissions Program for emerging and mid-career Visual Artists from Latin America; an exhibitions program showcasing work by Latin American Artists and international Contemporary Art from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection at the CIFO Art Space; and foundation-initiated support for other Arts and Culture projects

Established in 1971, NYFA is a nonprofit service organization with the mission of empowering the creative community by providing critical support, resources, and opportunities to help artists, cultural workers, and emerging arts organizations sustain themselves economically. NYFA’s present day impact is far-reaching and rooted in a wealth of resources and partnerships, with in-person programs and services in eight states, a world-wide online presence, and an ever-growing base in NY. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) are integral to our mission which we serve through our four flagship initiatives.
