LEARNING DISABILITIES ASSOCIATION OF WINDSOR-ESSEX COUNTY

We provide information and referral services to individuals, parents, professionals, and others interested in learning disabilities and ADHD. In addition, the following services and programs for individuals with learning disabilities and ADHD have been added: - social skills training; - literacy and numeracy tutoring; - transition planning programs; - adaptive technology training programs; - recreation programs; - parent advocacy classes; - employment supports; - client intervention services; - workshops and conferences; and - a lending library.

LITTLE PEOPLE OF ONTARIO

Started in 1965, the Little People of Ontario (LPO) is a provincial, charitable organization that provides life-long fellowship, support and information to people of short stature, their families and friends. The LPO hosts social activities and sends its members regular newsletters. It provides up-to-date information about medical issues, community and government support services, and ongoing education about the challenges of living life as a little person.

The Environment of People Foundation, Inc. (EOPF) strives to ensure that music remain a central part of our children's lives and growth.   The EOPF supports programs and activities that benefit children through music.To underwrite our efforts and reinforce our goals, the EOPF presents ongoing fundraising initiatives that, through active community participation, benefit children worldwide. Our programs include musical events, documentary programming, and new media learning tools that promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and music education for all children. It is our mission to generate significant recognition and awareness, and in doing so, the Environment of People Foundation endeavors to raise support for other organizations that share our philosophy and objectives.

North American Triangle Youth Association

North American Triangle Youth Association’s purpose is promote and preserve classical Indian dance forms and solo performances to preserve the history of Indian classical dance and the importance of solo performing. Any and all proceeds raised will be distributed to organizations based in India working to improve the lives of India’s underserved.

American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association

GOALS BEYOND HOCKEY\nThe American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association instills confidence and self-esteem in deaf and hard of hearing athletes, while building life skills through the game of hockey. AHIHA is supported entirely by contributions from individuals, corporations and organizations. We believe very strongly that our program should impose as little financial burden as possible to those we serve. There are no dues-paying members of the organization and athletes who participate in the annual hockey camp are not assessed a fee for attending. AHIHA operates with an all volunteer staff, many of which return year after year.

PEOPLE, WORDS & CHANGE

People, Words & Change provides free one-on-one tutoring to adults who want to improve their reading and writing, everyday math, or basic computer skills. Our not-for-profit program helps adult learners meet their individual goals such as working toward employment, educational upgrading and mastering practical life skills. Tutors meet with their learners once a week for two hours at a mutually convenient time and place.

People for Education: • operates a toll-free parent help line • publishes tips and information for parents in 13 languages • hosts an informative website and open discussion board • conducts an annual survey of Ontario's schools • publishes parent-friendly research reports on a variety of topics • has a network of parents across Ontario • offers workshops and webinars to parents, educators and students • sits at a number of government policy tables • participates in consultations on education • makes policy recommendations • encourages ongoing public dialogue about education & works with the media • brings together parents, trustees, educators and community members at our annual conference to learn, make connections,and hear about the latest education research.
