Calgary Search and Rescue Association (CALSARA) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to providing fully-trained volunteers to assist local agencies such as City of Calgary Police Service, RCMP, MD of Rockyview, Municipal Police Services, in ground search and rescue operations. We were founded in 1993. When called upon by the authorities to help in a search, our members are ready and able to be deployed into the field within hours. Upon setting up a base camp and command post near the point last seen or last known position, searchers are briefed by our experienced search managers about the subject and circumstances, broken into groups of three or more and spread out around the search area. When located, the individual(s) is stabilized, secured and evacuated from the area.

Lions Gate Christian Academy is a K-12 school situated in beautiful North Vancouver and has been offering educational excellence to families for over 17 years. The school is interdenominational and as such is not controlled by any particular church. Based on its Statement of Faith the school is Evangelical in its Christian views. Lions Gate Christian Academy is a school which has high expectations for its students. High expectations in every aspect of school life prepares each student for a life of serving God and people. Our well-qualified staff plays a significant role in making our school a Christian school. They are certified with the B.C. College of Teachers and genuinely care for the students. Core Programs - Chinese Learning Academy Offers accredited, basic training (ECS to grade 12) in mastering the skills in Mandarin Chinese language. - Chinese Library Has had about five thousand members since its inception in 1992 and contains seventy thousand items of books and videos. - Educational.Cultural.Recreational Courses A home to a number of educational, artistic, cultural and recreational programs as well as summer camps. - Chinese Artifacts Museum The Museum displays a diverse collection of objects reflecting the history and culture that goes back more than five thousand years and offers guided tours of the Centre, the Museum and Chinatown as well as customized cultural programs. - Facilities Rental Open for public renting, the facilities features a 6,000 sq.ft. multi- purpose auditorium with performing stage, a unique cultural hall, Wi-Fi connections, meeting space in various formats.

We are Canadians who want to reduce suicide and its impact in Canada. We represent experts and volunteers, school and community suicide prevention initiatives, mental health workers, researchers, crisis centres and families who have been impacted by suicide. We are survivors of loss. Among us, we have lost children, parents, family members, neighbours, friends, patients and clients. So have most of you. We want to end the silence. We want to ease the suffering, to heal our communities and our neighbours, as we have healed ourselves. We want to prevent others from experiencing such pain and such loss.

The Waldorf curriculum promotes well-rounded development in children by exposing them to a wide variety of subjects using an interdisciplinary approach that complements the students natural abilities. Waldorf education allows for a meaningful learning process by engaging the whole child. The children develop their thinking and feeling, and a sense of purpose. We believe that through a gradual unfolding children enjoy childhood, preserve the joy of curious exploration and experience the deep satisfaction of skillful doing. We offer a learning community devoted to peacefully educating children within a non-competitive, arts enriched, academic curriculum and strive to inspire others.

Commemorating the sacrifice made by our veterans in the Battle of Hong Kong, and continuing their struggle to ensure that their sacrifice is never forgotten. The HKVCA has five branches across Canada and has a membership of about 800. Our source of funds includes membership fees as well as donations. Activities include the preparation and distribution of newsletters as a method of informative communication. We also lay wreaths at public ceremonies as expressions of respect for our veterans, distribute books to educate others of our veterans' stories, prepare & distribute booklets for schools as teaching aids to tell our story, maintain a website as an informative resource on the Battle of Hong Kong, erect plaques and grave markers to honour our vets. A longer term project now completed is the erection of a Memorial Wall in Ottawa with the names of all those who fought in 'C' Force in that Hong Kong Battle.

The Halifax Community Learning Network offers free adult learning programs at locations throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. Each year, with the help of volunteers, we serve more than 150 learners who wish to improve their basic skills. HCLN relies heavily on community support in the form of volunteer tutors and community board members as well as in the area of financial contributions from corporate sponsors. All monetary donations go directly to improving the quality of programming offered by the Network.

SEDA is a non-profit, charitable organization with the mandate to assist anyone interested in learning more about debate and speech. SEDA offers Public Workshops, Free Classroom Workshops, Teacher In-services, Instructional and Demonstration Videos, Printed Debate Guides for Students and Teachers, and Pre-made Research Packages. SEDA also coordinates extra-curricular debate for students in grades 6 to 12, as well as university and adult level debate. Any school can form a debate club and participate in tournaments with other schools. Please contact SEDA to register and for more information on SEDA’s new coaching certification program.
