CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. Established in 2005, The GEANCO Foundation saves and transforms lives in Africa. We conduct complex surgical missions and run an innovative program to fight anemia in Nigeria. Through our system of modern, solar-powered rural maternal clinics, we help poor, vulnerable pregnant women safely deliver healthy babies. In addition to donating laptops, tablets, books, medicine and sports facilities to schools, our David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls provides full tuition, healthcare, and social & psychological support to young female survivors of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria. Airlink is a global humanitarian organization delivering critical aid to communities in crisis by providing airlift and logistical solutions to nonprofit partners, changing the way the humanitarian community responds to disasters around the world. Our funding comes from donations and in-kind awards from airlines, aviation sector businesses, foundations, and individuals. We build long-term relationships with airlines, who provide Airlink with access to airlift to harness the power and speed of aviation to deliver humanitarian aid and responders in the wake of natural or man-made disasters. Airlink ensures the right aid gets to communities in need at the right time.

Our mission is to advance change in America by ensuring equitable access to nutritious food for all in partnership with food banks, policymakers, supporters, and the communities we serve. Through a network of more than 200 food banks, 21 statewide food bank associations, and over 60,000 partner agencies, food pantries and meal programs, we helped provide 6.6 billion meals to tens of millions of people in need last year. Feeding America also supports programs that prevent food waste and improve food security among the people we serve; brings attention to the social and systemic barriers that contribute to food insecurity in our nation; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.

The mission of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community.To fulfill our mission we: Source and acquire food and other products and distribute to people in need through charitable agencies or directly through programs; Energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief; Conduct hunger education and awareness campaigns and advocate for public policies that alleviate hunger.Our vision is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County. The Food Bank, founded in 1973, provides food and other products to people seeking food assistance throughout Los Angeles County. We also energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief through volunteerism, food and fund drives, financial and in-kind support. The Food Bank also conducts hunger education and awareness campaigns and advocates for public policies that alleviate hunger. With the help of 31,000 volunteers and financial supporters, the Food Bank distributed over 60 million pounds of food in 2011 including 14 million pounds of fresh produce. We serve over 1 million individuals throughout Los Angeles County each year. The Food Bank also has nutrition education classes for local schools. Additionally, we make every effort to educate the public about the problem of hunger.
