Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult volunteers (18 and over) with boys or girls aged six to sixteen who come from primarily single parent families. Big Brothers/Sisters spend a minimum of 2 outings per month with their Little Brothers/Sisters doing a wide range of friendship-based activities together. Volunteers provide encouragement, guidance, and support. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor-supported volunteer organization and you can make a major difference for the kids simply by making a donation.

At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we know Mentorship works and our communities are stronger for it! Service Area We provide service to both male and female children, ages 6 -17 in over 66% of Oxford County (Woodstock, Norwich, Burgessville, Curries, Eastwood, Princeton, Drumbo, Bright, Plattsville, Tavistock, Hickson, Innerkip).
Big Brothers of Sarnia-Lambton is a non profit, volunteer agency helping children reach their full potential by providing the dependable, non-conditional, stabilizing influence, guidance and friendship of the mature, interested and responsible volunteer. Three types of programs are available: Big Brothers, Couples Program and In-School Mentoring.
At Big Brothers oBig Sisters of North Simcoe we provide one-on-one and group mentoring opportunities to children, ages 6-18, with needs. We have a range of services that we provide, including our Traditional Match, Couples for Kids, Big Bunches, In School Mentoring, Big Bunch and Friend for a Day. Through interactions with a responsible adult, children gain many skills and new experiences that they may not have access to, otherwise. Our focus is on FUN and on BROADENING HORIZONS - and we could not do it without your support. THANK YOU!
Our Association raises 100% of its necessary funding through events and donations and all revenue stays specifically in Orillia to support the existing local Big Brother Big Sister programs. Today, we support over 150 families annually in a variety of mentoring programs which include Big & Little matches, couple matches, group matches, cross-gender matches, In-School Mentoring, teen mentoring and ‘Go Girls’. We also offer regular group activities for our entire membership which facilitate the physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs of everyone in our program. These programs are sustained through the efforts of minimal staff and approximately 100 volunteers.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region help over 1200 children, youth and their famlies each year. We do this by providing volunteer mentors to children in need. We believe that the healthy development of every child is enhanced by a positive, nurturing, mentoring relationship. We are proud of what we have been able to do, but we also continue to work hard to meet the needs of over 200 children still waiting to be matched. You can help us by supporting our programs. Establishing, monitoring and supporting long-term relationships between children and youth and reliable, caring volunteers. Big Brothers Big Sisters makes it possible for targeted children and youth to develop in the following areas: • Communication • Problem-solving and decision-making • Self-esteem and self-confidence • Anger Management • Initiating and maintaining relationships with peers, family members, teachers and others • Career and education planning For many children and youth, the opportunity to spend time talking with trusting and trustworthy adults who are willing to share life lessons and experiences can help them build self-confidence and learn to make good decisions about their lives and their futures.

There are a number of programs available to meet the needs of the children in Lanark County. We offer Traditional one on one matching programs, In School mentoring, waiting list programs, and small group mentoring.
Through a variety of programs- Traditional, In-School, Go Girls, Game On, and Friendship Programs- we provide mentorship to children and youth in the communities of Brock, Uxbridge and Scugog Townships. All of our mentors are volunteers and thoroughly screened and matched with our mentees as best we can. We are not government funded, and therefore hold a variety of fundraising events each year in order to keep our programs running.
