Be the Change Earth Alliance is a Canadian charitable organization that brings sustainability education programs to schools and communities to create environmental and social change. Our programs empower people of all ages to connect, understand and actively respond to the sustainability challenges facing our planet. Your donations will be supporting STUDENT LEADERSHIP IN SUSTAINABILITY, an innovative program that provides teachers and students with a groundbreaking educational curriculum for environmental sustainability, global citizenship, and youth empowerment. The 4,000 students currently using SLS are creating local solutions to global sustainability issues and your donations will help us bring SLS to more schools! A donation of $5 dollars will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to a student. A donation of $100 will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to a whole classroom. A donation of $250 will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to an entire grade.

The Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society has been formed to purchase Island Timberlands forest land holdings immediately adjacent to Carrington Bay Park on Cortes Island, British Columbia, Canada. These forest lands will be held in trust for all the children of Cortes Island, in perpetuity. They will offer educational, recreational, cultural and spiritual value for all our children. They will provide the opportunity for our youth to embrace and practise stewardship of forest lands and watersheds. Parcel Identification The parcels of land that have been identified for purchase (shown below) are: NW ¼ S38, NE ¼ S38, NW ¼ S39, NE ¼ S39 and portion of SW ¼ S39. These lands border the southern shores of Carrington Lagoon and share their northern boundary with Carrington Bay Park, providing critical connectivity at the landscape level for Carrington Bay and Carrington Lagoon.

Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a not-for-profit, multi-service organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities. Through our Ontario Early Years Centre and our Family Resource programs we provide early learning programs for children, their parents and caregivers at minimal or no cost to participants. MCRC's parent resource library offers a variety of resources and workshops including access to our parent educators. Through our Licensed Child Care programs, MCRC provides quality early learning and care at an affordable cost and subsidy is available for eligible families. Collaboratively with Halton Region Children Services, MCRC operates The Halton Resource Connection, which provides training, support and resources to parents, caregivers, individuals and organizations working with children and youth.

Port Cares was founded in 1986 and incorporated as a not-for-profit registered charity in 1988. Port Cares is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and derives revenue through a combination of government funding, foundation grants, the United Way, private donations, membership and fundraising activities. Vision Statement: Port Cares seeks to develop a dynamic community by empowering individuals. Mandate: - to establish services which empower individuals through skills training, employment, social connections and supports - to provide services that assure confidentiality, safety and integrity - to assist individuals to reach goals that would provide a sustainable income - to provide accessible information & increase awareness of resources to promote individual & community capacity building - to assist with the integration and mutal support of service providers - to identify gaps in service provision.

Sunshine Centres for Seniors is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, founded in 1970. Active seniors as well as seniors with physical limitations benefit from being connected to the supportive community at Sunshine Centres. We offer year-round recreation, socialization and health promotion programs to seniors from across Toronto at 5 locations. We operate at our Yonge and Bloor centre from October to April, and on Ward's Island from May to September and at three Toronto Community Housing buildings in St. Jamestown all year long. Our Ward's Island program is called Camp Sunshine and it is a unique program offering a day outing to seniors in a parkland setting. About 1,500 seniors each year from across Toronto attend this one-of-a-kind program.

Telecare Distress Line of Greater Simcoe provides 24/7 telephone support for individuals experiencing emotional distress, social isolation, alcohol/drug issues, grief and loss, financial concerns and relationship issues. Telecare Distress Line of Greater Simcoe receives up to 1,000 calls per month from all over Simcoe County and South Muskoka. Volunteers receive extensive professional training and are able to respond to the immediate and changing needs of the callers as well as referring and connecting them to other appropriate community resources if necessary. Telecare is an integral part of the social service infrastructure of this community by providing an emotional safety net. Telecare Distress Line helps to alleviate stress, averting crisis and reducing unnecessary emergency calls and ER visits.

Yateam is dedicated to serving the world’s most vulnerable populations by providing aid and relief through a variety of programs including education and training, water and sanitation, income generation, orphan support, health and nutrition, and emergency relief. Additionally, this Corporation may engage in any activities that are reasonably related to or in furtherance of its stated charitable purposes, or in any other charitable activities as allowed by law. To maximize our impact on current efforts, we may seek to collaborate with other non-profit organizations that fall under the 501(c)(3) section of the internal revenue code and are operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes. Our mission is to promote dignity, community, and self-sufficiency by working with marginalized populations in rural Honduras on a long-term basis, facilitating access to health care, education, and livable wages. Our comprehensive approach to grassroots community development promotes local traditions, encourages community leadership, and emphasizes collective ownership. Un Mundo seeks to improve the present and future socio-economic conditions and the quality of life of the families in rural Honduras who are living in extreme poverty by providing them with tools and resources to be self-sufficient and unified. Our work began from spontaneous relief actions after Hurricane Mitch devastated Honduras in 1998, and we grew to gain 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2001. Initially, the organization was sustained by the generosity of international volunteers, but we have gradually evolved such that more and more of our project work is managed by local Honduran leaders. Within a few years, we expect that we will be able to realize our vision of seeing equitable, fruitful, life-giving projects in the Cangrejal River Valley being 100% run by the local communities.

BC Guide Dog Services began the professional training of guide dogs for blind & visually impaired British Columbians in 1996. In 2001, B.C. Guide Dog Services became full members of the International Guide Dog Federation, an international accrediting body. In 2002, B.C. Guide Dog Services registered the title Alberta Guide Dog Services for the purposes of providing guide dogs to blind & visually impaired Albertans. The goal of BC & Alberta Guide Dog Services is, by the year 2020, to have a working guide dog population of 250 guide dog teams. The working life of a guide dog team is about eight years, therefore, BC & Alberta Guide Dog Services will need to have graduated a cumulative total of 395 guide dog teams by 2020 to achieve this goal. We began caring for seniors and enabling seniors to care for themselves in 1983. We continue to do so today as an accredited, not-for-profit community support service agency in Toronto by offering a wide range of practical and low-cost services to seniors and their caregivers. Historically themed areas tell the story of Nova Scotia settlement from an agricultural and horticultural perspective, showcasing gardening methods, designs and materials representing more than four hundred years of local history. These core gardens are linked by paths through many other display areas featuring plant collections, garden art, water features and natural areas. Connecting pathways look westward over dykelands, evocative of a way of life centuries ago. One of the most magnificent of the collections, by any standards, is the Rose Collection which has more than 270 cultivars. With thousands of colourful and fragrant blossoms, it is the largest rose collection in the Maritime region.
