The Salt Lake County Sheriff Search & Rescue team is an all‑volunteer mountain rescue group that responds to backcountry emergencies across Salt Lake County (rock/ice technical rescues, avalanche response, swift‑water and open‑water operations). As an authorized volunteer nonprofit team under the Sheriff’s Office, they operate year‑round to locate and aid lost or injured recreationists and rely on donations and volunteer hours to support training and equipment.
