Teach For America exists to address the problem of the opportunity gap; our mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort. In the immediate term, we serve as a critical source of talented and committed teachers, called corps members, who compensate for the additional challenges their students face to provide them with the educational opportunities they deserve. Our corps members' positive impact on students' academic achievement provides tangible evidence that it is possible for all students to succeed when they get the right support. At the same time, helping their students succeed intensifies corps members' sense of urgency and gives them a deep grounding in what it will take to ensure that all students in our nation have the opportunity to attain an excellent education. Over the long run, we produce an alumni force with the talent, conviction, insight, and experience to effect the fundamental changes necessary to realize our vision of educational opportunity for all. Our alumni work directly for change at every level of our education system, while also exerting pressure for positive change from outside the system:* continuing to serve as teachers, school principals, and district administrators* taking the pressure off schools by working to remediate the challenges of poverty by working in careers supporting economic development, public health, social services, and law* pioneering innovations in public service as social entrepreneurs* shaping our priorities and policies as advocates, policy advisers, elected officials, and influencers in other sectors.

New Directions believes that people who have disabilities deserve the same opportunities in life that others expect and enjoy. Our profoundly enriching travel programs expand the self-esteem of every traveler. Whole new worlds of understanding open for both participants and the general population. Through these unique programs, people with disabilities are increasingly understood, appreciated and accepted as important and contributing members of our world. SFArtsED provides participatory and standards-based arts education in the performing and visual arts for young people, primarily in San Francisco public schools as well as in after-school, weekend and summer programs. We bring together professional artists and children in a wide variety of life-changing, skill-building, joy-brimming arts activities.

Established in 1997, the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center's (SARRC) mission is to advance research and provide a lifetime of support for individuals with autism and their families.

Our mission is to spotlight and support local heroes in education, with a focus on adults and students providing a social good to communities in need.

Student Global Ambassador Program (SGAP Leaders) empowers underrepresented teens to become agents of change in their communities and beyond by thinking critically, applying STEM, and championing social impact. Our workshops challenge our teens from different schools, regions and countries to think critically around real issues that affect real lives; as a result they develop leadership and team building skills; and through the process, they gain a voice and feel empowered.

At Seattle Amistad School, we foster community integrity through rigorous bilingual and bicultural education, developing our students’ academic strengths and cultural sensibilities, while nurturing compassionate and engaged citizens.

OneSky partners with governments and communities in Asia to provide responsive care and safe learning environments so that marginalized young children can thrive. We began our work in China in 1998 as Half the Sky. Our goal, from the start, was to bring love and responsive care to infants living in child welfare institutions across the country. With a team of early childhood development experts, we set about training caregivers to ensure the youngest and most vulnerable received the best possible start to life. In 2011, the Chinese government invited OneSky to train every child welfare worker in the country. This groundbreaking partnership has transformed the standard of care and directly reached over 200,000 children in China’s 31 provinces. Recognizing that the needs of young children are universal, today, we train professional child caregivers and parents across Asia with internationally recognized training methods and curricula, while partnering with governments to help them transform systems of care. Since 1998 across China, Vietnam and Mongolia and Hong Kong SAR, OneSky has trained 116,502 caregivers and impacted 394,390 children, with a goal to reach countless more in future years.
