The mission of the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions is to achieve responsible and sustainable use of New Jersey's natural resources and the protection of environmental health. They are a statewide organization that provides leadership, education, and support for environmental commissions and other local boards and public officials, and partners with other organizations to advocate for strong state and regional environmental policy.

FRIENDS OF THE TAY WATERSHED ASSOCIATION

The Friends of the Tay Watershed (FoTW) is a non-profit association, dedicated to preserving and enhancing the health of the Tay River Watershed. It was founded and obtained incorporated non-profit charitable status in 2001. The Tay is a magnificent tributary of the Rideau Canal system in eastern Ontario, covering 95 kilometers and encompassing 46 lakes and numerous streams and wetlands. The FoTW involves landowners, water users, and other interested parties in programs to improve the health of the Tay River Watershed. It works to: 1. educate the public and watershed stakeholders on the benefits of maintaining and improving wildlife habitat, recreation, and water quality and quantity in the Tay Watershed; 2. carry forward the recommendations of the Tay River Watershed Management Plan; 3. promote the coordination of water protection and improvement activities from the range of organizations involved in watershed management. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF NOVA SCOTIA

EHANS carries out a variety of activities to achieve these goals including - The popular on-line Guide to Less Toxic Products, www.lesstoxicguide.ca - Environmental health news, analysis and practical information published in our semi-annual publication, and on line at www.environmentalhealth.ca - Gathering and disseminating information addressing the special needs of people with chemical sensitivity - The E. Bruce Elliott Memorial Fund, which supports public lectures, book donations and other educational activities - The E. Bruce Elliott Scholarship in Environmental Medicine, which provides specialized training opportunities to physicians and other health professionals - Support for individuals through a 1-800 phone line - Collaboration with other community groups working to reduce environmental toxins

Association for Bright Children of Ontario

ABC Ontario is a provincially incorporated, all volunteer, federally registered charity (number 118777275 RR001) Since 1977, ABC has worked with parents, school boards, the Ministry and many stakeholders to meet the needs of bright and gifted learners in Ontario. ABC is represented on school board special education advisory committees and the Minister’s Advisory Council on Special Education. Giftedness is recognised as needing special education support under the Education Act. ABC provides newsletters, networking, local workshops and a conference for educators and parents. Through Chapters and volunteers, ABC supports families with advocacy and parent information sessions on identification, placement, education plans, and other special education issues.
