A Safe and Protected Environment The shelter maintains a confidential address. Twenty-four Hour Crisis Intervention The shelter offers a 24 hour crisis line and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A TTY line is available. Emergency Accommodation and Room and Board 27 beds are available for women and children. Meals, clothing and basic necessities are also provided Counselling Services for Abused Women Supportive counseling is available to women while they reside at the shelter. Staff and volunteers provide options and alternatives to aid women in making choices. An in-house support group meets weekly, offering an opportunity to discuss and learn more about abuse issues. Children’s Program Child and youth workers provide support to children & teenagers who come to the shelter with their mothers...many of whom have witnessed violence in the home. Established in 1985, the Eastern Township Alzheimer Society is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the Quebec Federation of Alzheimer Societies and Alzheimer Society of Canada. The SAE offers services such as support groups, rest, training sessions for family, speech groups, group activities, telephone support and individual and family meetings, in both French and English in the 7 RMC's of the Eastern Townships.

The Southern Alberta Brain Injury Society continues to promote lifelong supports and services for adults with acquired brain injury and their families and advocates for open and inclusive communities for all persons regardless of the severity of their brain injury.

Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Ontario (SB&H) is a registered charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. SB&H provides direct support to individuals with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families, conducts awareness and education programs, supports and promotes research, and works to ensure fair treatment and social justice for people with disabilities. Our vision is to facilitate the reduction and ultimate eradication of these conditions, and build a society that is sensitive, supportive and responsive to the needs of those living with or affected by these disabilities. SB&H is not government funded and generates 100% of its revenue through fundraising initiatives. A small complement of employees and a multitude of community volunteers carry out the Association's work. We are the only organization in Ontario addressing the needs of individuals and families affected by these serious, complex conditions.

The Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Canada strives to be the leading national voluntary health organization, setting the standard for education, public awareness and research of spina bifida and hydrocephalus. We aspire to reduce the incidence of spina bifida and hydrocephalus and to promote independence of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

The Bloom Group is a multi-faceted service provider operating primarily in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, offering aid and assistance to those in need. We provide support for people who face the challenges of poverty, crime, mental illness and addictions, chronic health issues, illiteracy, homelessness and the sex trade. We provide safe housing and supports that help individuals manage on a daily basis and live their lives with dignity.

For over 125 years St. John Ambulance has been teaching first aid in Ontario. Today we train over 155,000 Ontarians annually in first aid and other health care related courses and remains dedicated to saving lives at work, home and play. With over 4,000 volunteers contributing over half a million hours of community service a year, St. John Ambulance is an integral part of the community offering such unique and innovative programs as; medical first response, disaster response, car seat clinics, health and safety related youth programs and therapy dog services. As a charitable, humanitarian organization, proceeds from St. John Ambulance’s first aid training and first aid product sales directly support these vital community services programs. St. John Ambulance, council for Federal District(Ottawa) provides volunteer community service, Youth programs, and Therapy Dog services. SJA receives no government support for their activities and relies on donations to carry out its mission.

St. Jude's Anglican Home was established in May, 1948. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1991 as a multi-level long term care home for 55 elderly residents. Our services include 24 hour nursing care, delicious and nutritious meals planned by a registered dietitian, recreation and music therapy, multi-faith pastoral care, physiotherapy, podiatry, massage therapy, and hairdressing. St. Jude's is widely acknowledged as one of the leaders in complex geriatric care in the region. The Home is supported by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, user fees and donations. Donations are used to enhance resident programs and support equipment purchases and capital development. Donations to our "Companions in Care Fund" are fully tax deductable. Donations over $500 per year are acknowledged on our Board of Special Recognition in the Home.

Since 1968, St. Leonard’s Community Services has operated as an Agency for change. St. Leonard’s Community Services is a registered charity and can issue a donation receipt for income tax purposes. Our mission is to empower children, families and adults to overcome life challenges by helping them make responsible choices that result in positive change. Donations are gratefully accepted to support programs to help youth and families cope with challenges ranging from physical and sexual abuse, mental health and addiction issues to gambling problems and unemployment.

St. Michael's Extended Care Centre Society provides long-term, sub-acute, palliative nursing care and supportive housing for seniors. We offer care for the whole person: mentally, physically, spiritually and culturally. These components are interwoven throughout our facilities and govern the way our care and services are provided. St. Michael's Extended Care Centre Society consists of: * St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre (146 continuing care beds & 7 sub-acute beds) * Millennium Pavilion (a 75-bed seniors' lodge) * Manor Vegreville (a 55-bed supportive housing facility in Vegreville, AB) * Grove Manor (a 71-bed supportive housing complex in Spruce Grove, AB) * An Adult Day Support Program (providing a recreational, socialization and rehabilitative day program to seniors and mentally challenged adults) St. Michael's also operates a public, family health centre and a retail pharmacy located in the Long Term Care Centre.
