ASSOCIATION GARAGONA INC

Located on the outskirts of Frelighsburg, Camp Garagona was founded in 1969. It is a camp for people living with a metal deficiency and/or an autism spectrum disorder, young and old alike. The Association is a charity, financed mainly by the registration fees of our campers, some government subsidies, and charitable donations by businesses, foundations, and individuals. It should be noted that most of our users are underprivileged financially.

QUÉBEC LUNG ASSOCIATION

Each year, the Lung Association invests heavily in Canadian respiratory health research. Recently, the Quebec Lung Association created Canada's first respiratory health chair. This $2.5 million chair was set up at Université de Sherbrooke. Despite medical advances, lung disease has been flourishing at an ever increasing rate over the past few years. In Quebec, it is estimated that over 1.4 million people suffer from either emphysema, lung cancer, asthma, sleep apnea, pneumonia, sarcoidosis, chronic bronchitis and even tuberculosis, which is showing signs of recrudescence. The Quebec Lung Association provides a variety of services to meet the population's needs. Whether for problems related to COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), asthma or any other respiratory illness, or for information on the various programs designed to help quit smoking, our toll-free telephone lines are available to the entire Quebec population.

CALGARY CELIAC ASSOCIATION

The Calgary Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association (CCA) was incorporated in 1980 by a dedicated group of volunteers who recognized the need for local face-to-face support of people with celiac disease in our community. With our 25 years of service we have grown and expanded to a point where our Chapter now has over 700 active members and provides hands-on programs and services available to all people in Calgary and area who are affected by or have celiac disease. The Calgary Chapter is recognized in the CCA for the leadership, commitment and depth of programming that is vital to persons with celiac disease. We believe in our role to improve the lives of people in Calgary.
