The Bethesda Foundation was created by consent of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly of Manitoba July 9th 1980. Since it was established in 1980, the Foundation has provided funding for the improvement of health care services at the Bethesda Hospital, Bethesda Place, and in the community.

The Garth Homer Foundation raises funds to support the diverse and individualized programming needs of adults with developmental disabilities. The programs must reflect the principles of self-sufficiency, active participation and inclusion of individuals in reaching their economic and social potential. The Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Garth Homer Society which has been serving the needs of adults with developmental disabilities in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada since 1977. We assist families with children 3-18 who are wheelchair bound, purchase wheelchair accessible vehicles. Through the foundation and its board of directors, SFF focuses its activities in the Portland and SW Washington area. Through special events like the annual “Boo Who?” a family focused Halloween event held every October, SFF raises funding to support families touched by various disabilities focusing mostly on Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Transportation, scholarships, respite care, caregiver support activities are just a few of the ways SFF gives back.

Before School By providing Breakfast Club funding to 22 local schools we are helping to provide a healthy start to over 4000 children each school day, in turn, The Human League provides an equal opportunity for all children to learn throughout the school day. After School Through our P.L.A.Y. Program we promote involvement in physical, cultural, and artistic activities for youth in our community. This program can benefit and enhance the health and well-being of all participants, and will inevitably lead to opportunities that will allow for personal growth and the attainment of individual potential.

About 65% of Zambians earn less than $1.25 per day. The Other Side Foundation is committed in nurturing at grassroots level, Orphans & Vulnerable children through an integrated Values Based Education (Education in Human Values), Nutrition and Health care. We further empower the widows, grandmothers and single mothers of our students through evening adult education, skills training & microloans/seed funding. The Other Side Foundation promotes gender equality and believes that every child needs to eat at least a meal/day, have access to basic healthcare and education.
The Kensington Charities include: The Kensington Foundation which funds community health and social service projects fostering safe and healthy communities and promoting individual independence and well being; The Kensington Health Centre/Kensington Gardens, a 350-bed long-term care facility and provides related community services for people of all ages; The Kensington Eye Institute an 'Academic Centre of Excellence' in ambulatory cataract surgery as well as a teaching facility for medical residents in ophthalmology; The Kensington Research Institute, carrying out medical, surgical and health-related research into quality of life issues; The Kensington Screening Clinic, a state-of-the-art 'Centre of Excellence' for colonoscopy/gastroscopy screening; and the soon-to-be-opened Kensington Hospice, a 10-bed residential hospice which will optimize a terminally ill person’s quality of life and meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of both the individual and his/her family.
