The mission of ADAKC is to improve the lives of Kern County Residents affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. ADAKC takes deliberate actions aligned with its vision, that all in Kern County on the Alzheimer's journey have the help and support they need. ADAKC is steadfast in upholding its values: treating everyone with the compassion, dignity and respect of a family member and doing the right thing regardless of the situation. ADAKC’s focus is on caring for the whole-person (mind, body, and spirit) and improving quality of life. To accomplish this, ADAKC strives to remove barriers, identify and resolve unmet health needs, and engage the entire care team.

BIAPH offers: Assitance and information to survivors of ABI, their families and support network. We are a community group of professionals and caring volunteers that helps to: - Promote the prevention of ABI - Improve Quality of Care/Life - Provide Community Education and Awareness - Conduct Resource Searches for clients BIAPH provides: - Educational and supportive meetings between individuals with an ABI, their families, other support service workers and professsionals. - Social and recreational activities for individuals with an ABI nad their families. - Financial assistance for respite care by fundraising via fundraiser events and corporate funding. BIAPH strives to: - Establish and maintain relationships with other non-profit groups and service providers. - Gather, disseminate and ensure that information on brain injury and its effects is accessible.
As a provincially-organized governed by a volunteer Board of Directors for over 20 years, BIANS blends brain injury survivors, family members, professionals and other interested individuals to provide a community of support and hope for others affected by brain injury. BIANS has a community network of groups operating in Halifax, Truro, Annapolis Valley and Lunenburg County. Activities include: information source; brain injury prevention and education; presentations to government and political parties; creating and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders
