We are a volunteer-based registered charitable organization that relies on memberships and donations in order to help others understand and manage the health conditions of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia (FM). Our main purposes are to provide support, information and education to members, individuals and families as well to physicians, other medical professionals and the community at large; and to increase public awareness of ME and FM.

We believe learning is an important, ongoing process, fundamental to our growth. We believe in advocating for a just and compassionate society. As the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia envisions and fights for a cure, we strive to promote holistic quality of life. ACNS will respond to the changes and challenges by ensuring qualified, compassionate human resources, funding, education and commitment to health promotion.

MOOD DISORDERS SOCIETY OF CANADA

The Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) is Canada's only national voice for Canadians suffering from depression, bipolar illness, anxiety and other mood disorders and their families and caregivers. We are a registered, not-for-profit organization able to issue charitable receipts. We are a national, volunteer- driven organization that is committed to improving the quality of life for people affected by depression, bipolar disorder and other related disorders. We provide a national voice for consumers and families to ensure their issues and concerns are understood and considered in the setting of research priorities, the development of treatment strategies and the creation of government programs and policies related to mental illness.MDSC has acquired a reputation for leadership at the national level for consumer focused research, both qualitative and quantitative. We have led the discussion on stigma and the issue of the lack of service availability and emergency room waits.

ACHILLES TRACK CLUB OF CANADA

Achilles Canada is a non-profit organization that provides people with various disabilities an opportunity to receive the physical, psychological, and communal benefits of running. The club offers training and support by able-bodied members to its Achilles athletes of all ability levels. Guide runners and volunteers are always needed, and sponsorship is greatly appreciated. Achilles Canada welcomes people with all disabilities such as visual, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, arthritis, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, amputation, cystic fibrosis, or those who suffer from stroke, cancer, traumatic head injury, and many others. Runners participate with crutches, in wheelchairs, on prostheses, and without aid. From the beginner to the advanced, there is a range of program levels available to suit all personal requirements. This ensures that members remain challenged while continuously improving and realizing their potential.

GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada

GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada provides support, education, and research concerning Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), and Chronic Infalmmatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) throughout Canada. Our ongoing programs are intended to: a) assist patients and their families cope with the illness by providing emotional support and other resources to them. b) make personal visits by former patients to those currently in hospitals and rehabilitation, to offer moral support. c) provide information and literature about GBS and CIDP so patients and their families know what to expect during illness. d) create awareness and help educate the public and medical community about GBS, CIDP and our charity. e) encourage and foster medical research into the cause, treatment and other aspects of GBS and CIDP. f) direct patients with residual and long-term disabilities from the diseases to resources for vocational, financial, emotional, and other assistance and programs that might be available.

CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE - CANADA

Children of the Promise is a non-profit organization who takes in orphaned and abandoned babies. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, with the highest infant and maternal death rate. The mothers of over half our infants we care for died shortly after their baby was born. 80% of Haiti’s population is living in absolute poverty and unemployment. Children of the Promise has become the largest infant care center in the north side of Haiti. We employ over 40 Haitians, providing for their only income.

BARTH SYNDROME FOUNDATION OF CANADA

The Barth Syndrome Foundation of Canada is a purely volunteer chartiable organization that works on behalf of Canadians affected by this rare metabolic condition. The goals of this organization are: To raise awareness of Barth syndrome so that doctors are testing for it and children are accurately diagnosed. Historically, boys died of heart failure or infection by 3 years of age, but with improved diagnosis and appropriate medical treatment and monitoring of all symptoms, the survival rate and future of these individuals is much brighter. To assist families with children affected by Barth Syndrome through education, access to physicians and support To support research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and hopefully a cure for Barth syndrome To support other charitable, scientific and educational organizations whose goals are similar to ours We are actively doing work in all of these areas, and in order to continue this and expand our programs, we need your help

SHALOM COUNSELLING CENTRE OF ALBERTA

Shalom Counselling Centre serves children, individuals, couples and families. regardless of age, gender, religion, or background. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale, based on household income, making them affordable. Community donations make up the difference of the actual cost of providing services. For as little as $35 per month ($400 per year) you can help families rebuild and restore their lives.

CHILDREN'S AUTISM SERVICES OF EDMONTON

Children's Autism Services of Edmonton is currently raising funds to build Edmonton's first and only stand alone community treatment centre for children with autism. This centre will allow us to provide individual and group treatment services, on site respite, family support and training, resource lending and library services, clinical research, and many other services. With your help we can build a legacy of hope and support for hundreds, if not thousands of Edmonton’s most vulnerable children. A generation of families will remember this treatment centre as the place where they found hope and their children made important leaps forward. This centre will change the lives of children with special needs and the landscape of services in Edmonton forever.
