The Marine Mammal Center is a nonprofit veterinary hospital, research and educational center dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of ill and injured marine mammals, primarily elephant seals, harbor seals, and California sea lions. Its research team studies the causes of illness in these animals, and by doing so, learns about conditions affecting the health of marine mammal populations and the oceans – discovering conditions that can affect humans as well. In addition, the Center’s education programs teach thousands of students and the visiting public each year about marine mammals and the urgent need for environmental stewardship of earth’s marine environments.

To assist high achieving low income students pursue an education through enhancing access to scholarships, mentorship, and career guidance.

The mission of BlackGirlsHack Foundation is to increase representation and empower Black girls and women in the field of information security and cyber security through skills training, mentoring, resume review, and access to low-cost resources in an inclusive environment.

The purpose of the Mars Society is to further the exploration and settlement of the planet Mars. We work to educate the public, the media and the government on the benefits of exploring Mars and creating a permanent human presence on the Red Planet. In order to accomplish this, the organization actively seeks to:1. Organize public outreach with the aim of fostering a deep interest in Mars,2. Promote broad international support for government-funded Mars research and exploration, and3. Advocate the establishment of commercial space ventures that will help achieve Mars exploration and settlement.Society activities include Mars analog simulations in the Utah desert and the Canadian Arctic, public outreach and educational programs such as the MarsVR virtual reality simulations.

The Mission of TECH CORPS' is three-fold and is achieved through: • PROGRAMS Bringing additional technology resources to K-12 students and teachers through national, state and local programs such as Computing Career Corps, E4Tech, High School Coding Camp, Student Code Corps, Student TECH CORPS, Student WEB CORPS, Techie Camp, and Techie Club. • PEOPLE Recruiting and supporting tech-savvy volunteers from the community to advise and assist schools and youth-serving nonprofit organizations in the integration of new technologies. • PARTNERS Increasing educational technology resources through partnerships with education, business, government and community.

Our vision is a world of self-reliant communities - rural and urban - that can continue their economic, political and cultural development unimpeded by natural disasters. GHI helps communities avert disaster by creating safer buildings, assessing geophysical hazards, helping governments affordably prepare, and educating residents about what to do in the face of high risk. GHI bridges the gap between scientific experts and the people in developing countries who want to take action. In each case we work with communities toward locally appropriate and lasting solutions.

At Listen and Talk, our mission is to teach children who are deaf or hard of hearing to communicate and learn through listening and spoken language. With the aid of advanced hearing technology and committed families involved in specialized programs provided by Listen and Talk, almost all children with hearing loss can learn to listen and use spoken language, allowing them to fully participate in a hearing world. Listen and Talk achieves these remarkable results by combining proven auditory-based educational methods with the use of advanced hearing technology including: digital/programmable hearing aids, cochlear implants, personal FM systems, and sound field systems for classrooms. For optimal success, we strive to apply our teaching methods to children in infancy-as soon as they are identified with hearing loss. Most Listen and Talk "graduates": Enter their neighborhood school by kindergarten, Learn and compete side-by-side with peers in regular classrooms, Converse and learn through spoken and written language, Reach their full language and learning potential and fully integrate into the wider community. Lifelong goals for each child include: The ability to learn and gain information through listening,the ability to effectively communicate without the need for an interpreter, the ability to think and reason independently, the use of age-appropriate literacy skills for communication, learning and enjoyment, intelligible speech, problem solving skills, and social engagement.
