Worthy of Love

An organization committed to transforming the way youth experience homelessness. We envision a world where every child can celebrate major life milestones, regardless of their financial background or living environment. Worthy of Love exists to create positive experiences and life-long memories for homeless youth and their families, by providing all-expenses-paid birthday parties to them as they navigate life's most challenging circumstances. Children and families who attend our parties are provided with meals, snacks, dessert, and a variety of exciting vendors to enjoy throughout the event. Our parties provide a safe environment for attendees and are secured and monitored by trained staff and security. Every child that attends our parties leaves with special gifts designed to inspire confidence and promote self-worth. Along with personalized birthday gifts, attendees receive school supplies, hygiene kits, and essential tools needed to thrive in day-to-day activities. Since 2013, Worthy of Love has thrown unforgettable birthday parties for over 20,000 children and teens experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County.

NGO GOOD BREAD FROM GOOD PEOPLE

Our mission is to improve lives of people with mental disabilities and to help those in need. Unfortunately, in Ukraine, when people with mental disabilities reach the age of 18, they remain useless to society - locked up at home or in special institutions. They have nowhere to go, they don't feel needed. The NGO Good Bread has been proving for more than 6 years that such people can and want to work. In Ukraine, unfortunately, it is almost impossible for these people to get a job - it is extremely difficult and resource-consuming to provide a workplace for such a person, and it also requires a lot of time. The NGO Good Bread gives 33 such people the opportunity to feel needed by society, acquire baker skills and socialize every day while coming to work. Currently, this is the first and only one such organization in Ukraine, which has been caring for adults with mental disabilities for more than 6 years. Primary goal of the Non-governmental organization "Good Bread from Good People" is the socialization and development of communicative and labor skills for individuals with mental disabilities. For over six years, it has adhered to its mission-creating conditions for a comfortable life and work environment for each of its employees. This means that people have a place where they can learn, acquire new skills, gain qualifications, and grow. NGO Good Bread has managed to create an environment where mutual respect is practiced, which in turn means acceptance of each individual. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the team of NGO Good Bread has been baking and sending bread for free to those in need. Every day, it delivers bread through volunteers and monthly the team of NGO personally transports it to various regions of Ukraine, including the hottest spots. Additionally, since February 2024, NGO Good Bread has restarted a project to prepare meals for those in need. Currently, about 80 people receive a hot meal in an individual thermobox each week. NGO Good Bread is constantly looking for opportunities to increase this number, as it has received requests and understands that people need proper nutrition daily, not just once a week.

CALGARY YOUNG PEOPLE,S THEATRE SOCIETY

Calgary Young People’s Theatre (CYPT) is a Not-for-Profit Charitable Society founded in 1992 by Jackie Pontin and Brian Dorscht. CYPT prides itself on providing numerous development opportunities to young people to explore the performing arts and develop their creativity and team work skills. Children can participate and gain confidence and theatrical skills by registering in one of our many classes or drama camp. Our advanced production programs require an audition, and result in professional productions in a professional Calgary theatre! We have a number of experienced staff working at CYPT each with individual areas of theatrical expertise. Artistic Director Kristin Eveleigh and General Manager Gillian Pinckney coordinate the day-to-day organization and artistic planning of the company such as productions, annual programming and staffing. Instructors, Directors and Production Staff are all educational or theatre professionals and are all contracted on a project-to-project basis.
