Latin American Women's Aid Refuge (LAWA) is a dedicated UK charity led by and for Latin American and other black and ethnic minority women that empowers and supports women and children experiencing domestic violence to start a new life and play a fuller role in the community. We do this by offering emergency accommodation along with a range of services designed to ensure high quality of service provision. Founded in 1986, LAWA has 29 years of experience successfully running the only refuge in the UK and Europe to Latin American women and children in their native language. We also provide comprehensive, culturally sensitive and holistic advice, including family and community outreach work in other areas of London. Our Mission: Latin American and other Spanish /Portuguese speaking BME women and their children working together to end violence and achieve self determination. American School for the Deaf

Founded in 1817, the American School for the Deaf is the country's oldest and Connecticut's only educational organization exclusively devoted to serving the deaf community. A private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, ASD provides comprehensive educational services for deaf and deaf with special needs infants, children, youth, adults and their families. The school is located on a 54-acre, 14-building campus in West Hartford, Connecticut. The mission of the American School for the Deaf is to provide a comprehensive program for the development of the intellect and the enhancement of the quality of life for the deaf and hard of hearing community by serving as a multi-purpose institution furnishing educational and vocational programs for deaf children, youth, adults and their families.
