Hometown Heroes, Inc. serves as the umbrella organization for camping programming serving children facing extreme trauma. Camp Hometown Heroes welcomes children, ages 7-17, who embody the statement “Freedom is not free.” They have made the ultimate sacrifice of losing a loved one who has served in the armed forces and died fighting in combat. Serving children from all over the country, including Hawaii and Alaska, at a vast camp location in Campbellsport, WI (known as Turning Rivers), the campers are taken through a journey of healing through play, therapy and bonding. Hometown Heroes, Inc. has recently expanded its programming to serve children who have an incarcerated parent in the Wisconsin Criminal System, and through trauma-based and art therapy called Camp Reunite.

We also assist families with the costs associated with funeral expenses related to the death of a child. The Do More Foundation can assist with the expenses that are incurred and not covered by traditional health insurance. Some examples of this would be: Assistance with rent/utility bills Assistance with meals while at the hospital Assistance with gas cards for travel to and from the hospital Assistance with non-covered medical supplies
Ever since its establishment, the objective of Macheo has been to give children in Kenya a better future and to improve the circumstances in which many Kenyan children grow up. It’s not for nothing that we’re called Macheo, which means ‘sunrise’ in Swahili.
