Amigos de Jesús is a home and bilingual school for children in Honduras that has cared for hundreds of children who have suffered the indignities of abuse, neglect, homelessness and hunger in one of the hemisphere’s poorest countries. Amigos de Jesús is a permanent safe haven with shelter, food and education for over 120 children. Amigos de Jesús aims to walk alongside our children from the time they arrive, afraid and traumatized, until the time that they are ready to move out into the world as adults prepared for responsibility and citizenship within their country of origin.

Providing Transitional Housing And Critical Support To Homeless Women And Their Children In Spokane Valley. Hearth Homes strives to inspire transformation in the lives of young mothers by assisting in the development of essential life skills such as parenting, nutrition and independent living skills (finance, housekeeping, and responsible renting). Hearth Homes is supported entirely by individual donations and private grants from the Spokane Valley and local communities. Thank you!

The mission of Project WeHOPE is to help the unhoused, homeless and those at-risk in rebuilding their lives through a customized Supportive Housing Program customized to the needs of each client. Project WeHOPE is an acronym for We Help Other People Excel, and we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in the City of East Palo Alto, California. Through our devotion to helping others, our long-term goal is to help improve the health of East Palo Alto by helping others overcome the critical issues facing homelessness and poverty in our cities.

Our mission is to connect the rich literary traditions and resources of Greater Boston, building relationships among its artists and authors, by empowering, enabling, and amplifying the voices of unheard and underserved populations through free collaborative workshops, public readings, literary journals, video publications, and public exhibits that showcase their work and encourage personal reflection and re-vision, by both author and audience, while sharing their stories with the world. Our workshops are intended to expand access to literary arts for everyone, including those marginalized, stigmatized, or isolated by the challenges of addiction recovery, disability, trauma, sickness, injury, poverty, and mental illness.

House of Neighborly Service assists and advocates for people challenged by the effects of poverty or situational crisis. Stabilizing households and preventing further crises through the basic necessities of food, clothing, utility assistance, resources, and more for families and individuals challenged by the effects of low-income or situational crises.

The majority of individuals in a homeless shelter at any given time are women and their children. These women are typically victims of domestic violence and are fleeing an abusive home looking to start over in a safe environment. Many other women in shelters are single mothers who lost their jobs due to unforeseen circumstances and need help to get back on their feet. Regardless of the situation that led these women to homelessness, they need support - both physical and emotional - to transition to a better life for themselves and their children. BRAWS mission is to support these women by providing new (tags on, only) bras and underwear, as well as feminine hygiene supplies. Unbeknownst to many people, these are some of the most requested critical needs by women in shelters. New bras and underwear and tampons, pads, and pantyliners are rarely donated, expensive items for a shelter to replenish, and not covered by food stamps. Insufficient access to these items often leads to unsanitary conditions and health problems.

We engage diverse and inclusive community and faith-based organizations to provide emergency shelter and basic needs to families with children who experience homelessness. We offer culturally informed services to prevent homelessness and to assist families in finding housing and sustaining their independence.
