They CONNECT warriors, their families, and caregivers to peers, programs, and communities to ensure they have a readily available network of support. SERVE by providing free mental and physical health and wellness programs, career and benefits counseling, and by providing ongoing support for the most severely injured. And EMPOWER warriors to live life on their own terms, mentor fellow veterans and service members, and embody the WWP logo by carrying one another on a path toward recovery. Today, more than 110,000 wounded warriors and 26,000 family support members and caregivers are registered with WWP and have access to free programs and services that CONNECT, SERVE, and EMPOWER.

Bob Woodruff Foundation

Since September 11, 2001, 2.5 million troops have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, they’re coming home. Yet even after they return to the love and support of their families and communities, many will struggle. Physical and hidden injuries are challenging on their own. But sometimes, these injuries can lead to a cascade of other trouble — unemployment, depression, substance abuse, even suicide. Our mission is to ensure injured veterans and their families are thriving long after they return home. That’s why we find and fund innovative programs in communities where veterans, their families and caregivers live and work. That’s how we tackle the problems that can prevent our veterans from fulfilling their dreams for the next chapter of their lives.

Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude seeks to honor the service of our military and first responders by creating opportunities to express gratitude. In March 2003, Operation Gratitude sent its first four individually addressed care packages to deployed service members in Iraq. In subsequent years, Operation Gratitude grew and intentionally expanded its reach to include recruit graduates, veterans, military families, and first responders. Our actions have served to lift the spirits of more than 3.3 million individuals and have provided opportunities for millions of Americans to express their appreciation for those who serve and protect our nation and their communities. We actively honor the service of our military and first responders by creating opportunities to express gratitude in pursuit of our vision: all who serve believe that the American people care.

Team Red, White & Blue

Every year, more than 250,000 active duty service members transition out of the military, joining the 3.5 million post-9/11 veterans already living in communities nationwide. They face many challenges including isolation, weight gain, lack of purpose, and other health issues. Team Red, White & Blue is the antidote to the isolation and health challenges they face. By forging America’s leading health and wellness community for veterans, service members, and their families, we strive to make tomorrow better. Together, we will find strength and success. Our chapters and the Team RWB App deliver virtual and local, consistent, and inclusive opportunities for veterans and the community to connect through physical and social activity.
