The Kateri Memorial Foundation was established in Kahnawake on June 1st, 1991 to act exclusively as a charitable organization. Through its volunteer board of directors, and members, the foundation will solicit, receive, administer and distribute contributed funds. Through these funds, the foundation will assist in maintaining this community’s high standard of health care services. The funds are intended to meet the specific objectives of the foundation as follows:
• To assist with the unfunded continuing needs of Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre. • To assist in providing medical aid for the aged and disabled. • To assist in providing counselling services in order to promote social welfare of the family. • To assist in providing rehabilitation programs for persons dependent on alcohol or other drugs. • To promote scientific and medical research. • To promote health education by providing scholarships, bursaries and prizes to Native students.
