Pledge to make a difference, together.
Canadians have a wide spread reputation for charity, volunteering and commitment to humanitarian efforts around the world and the Flying Doctors of Canada (FDOC) are no exception. The Flying Doctors of Canada is a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Organization made up of doctors, nurses, other healthcare workers and general volunteers who are committed to charity and helping those who are most in need. Established in May of 2006 by Drs. Benjamin Cavilla, Daniel Kopac and Rodrigo Onell, all graduates of the University of Alberta, Canada, FDOC was born out of the realization that there are relatively few opportunities for Canadian healthcare professionals to become involved in international health initiatives and charity projects under the auspices of a formal Canadian group. There are many such volunteer opportunities originating with our colleagues in the United States, however it was felt that it is our duty as Canadians to make a unique and Canadian contribution to global efforts.
