West Neighbourhood House (West NH) formerly St. Christopher House, has been a multi-service neighbourhood centre serving all age groups in downtown west Toronto since 1912. The mission of West NH is to enable less­ advantaged individuals, families and groups in the community to gain greater control over their lives and within their community. We work with people living on a low-income, newcomers, Indigenous peoples, people who are homeless or underhoused, job seekers, and women experiencing violence. While the core of our work is programs and services, West NH also works upstream on poverty reduction, housing, and the determinants of health through social policy, research with partners and community organizing to achieve our mission.

Battered Women's Support Services contributes to the freedom and liberation of girls and women from violence and to empower our community through training and education programs. For over 30 years, we have been providing counselling and healing spaces for those who have experienced abuse. We are a South African registered charity dedicated to encouraging disadvantaged individuals and communities to develop to their full potential in sport, education and health. Using direct sports coaching - for its health benefits, improved emotional well being and increased life skills (teamwork, leadership, decision making, communication). 2. Using sport to discuss critical issues - by delivering curriculums on topics such as HIV / AIDS awareness in a fun and interactive manner on the sports field. 3. Using sport for improved education - by providing pathways to success for talented and dedicated individuals through scholarships to top local schools and tertiary education.
