Farmer Foodshare’s mission is to reshape the disconnected food system by removing barriers to growing and accessing local food. Farmer Foodshare is unique in that we approach hunger from both sides of the problem - supporting North Carolina’s small farmers who are struggling to stay in business and disadvantaged populations who lack access to fresh and nutritious food. Since 2009, Farmer Foodshare has fostered cross-sector partnerships to support our efforts to build a local food system in which all members of our community can have access to healthy, nutritious food, and those who labor in agriculture can make a viable living. Farmer Foodshare began as a grassroots effort at the Carrboro Farmers Market to address inequitable access to fresh, healthy food for all members of the community. Farmers, market shoppers, and those experiencing food insecurity alike began a produce donation program to collect food from shoppers and farmers for communities in need. This “donation station” concept now operates at 26 markets statewide. Some are run by Farmer Foodshare, some by local volunteers, and a few are driven by community organizations, and in 2018, they contributed 51,445 pounds of fresh produce back into the community. Over the past 10 years, Farmer Foodshare has expanded its impact. We now operate a Wholesale Market that provides local institutions a means to efficiently source produce from NC farmers and generated $636,000 in revenue for these growers in 2018; a Food Ambassador program that provides nutrition and food system education to more than 8,000 high need students; and Community Foodshare, which supports community organizations in identifying and creating a variety of sustainable strategies for sourcing and learning about fresh, nutritious local food. All of these efforts work to build a more sustainable and equitable local food system.

Meals that Nourish the Critically Ill and Empower Teens

Our mission is to eliminate local childhood hunger — one child at a time. We also believe prayer is as equally important as the food we distribute, and are committed to praying for each and every student. We deliver hope to children across West Michigan, who range from early childhood through high school. By partnering with churches and schools, we provide backpacks filled with nutritious food that’s covered in prayer.

The pantry works to ensure neighbors in the Southern Cayuga community have access to healthy food and related resources; it operates a volunteer-run pantry site (and partners with local food banks and donors) to distribute groceries and support client dignity and food security.

The organization collects, stores, and distributes nutritious food to local nonprofit partner agencies (food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs) serving lower Fairfield County towns. It also raises awareness and coordinates community action to reduce hunger across its six-town service area.

The Friendship Center provides hope and dignity in Chicago's Northwest side through access to food and vital resources.

Martha's Table believes everyone deserves both dignity and opportunity. One-third of residents in the District of Columbia struggle to make ends meet and provide for their families. Through healthy food, affordable clothing and quality education, Martha's Table works with clients and partners to build a stronger community and help break the cycle of poverty.

City Hope provides free food, clothing, and hygiene items to people in need across the Valley, delivering those services through a dignified “shop-style” distribution model and local partnerships; it operates as a ministry of Christ Church and focuses on meeting practical needs while offering community support.

Community Food Connection works to eliminate hunger in Blount County by operating a volunteer-run food pantry and grocery-style distribution that provides groceries to any resident in need. They partner with regional hunger-relief networks and run programs (such as Path of Hope) to help clients meet immediate food needs and move toward greater self-sufficiency.

Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry was established with a purpose of reducing hunger issues within Indiana and a mission to improve the quality of life of Hoosiers by providing nutritious meat to hunger relief agencies within Indiana…One Pound at a Time…

Our mission is to aid and support children suffering from poverty, sickness, lack of education or who have experienced physical or moral violence, by offering them the opportunity and the hope of a new life. It is an independent, lay organisation and is also designated an ONLUS (Non-profit organisation of social value). It operates without discrimination of culture, ethnicity and religion and upholds the United Nations rights of the child. The Foundation works around the world and is closest to the weakest and most neglected children offering them food, medicine, health care, education and programmes for social reintegration. In pursuing its goal, Mission Bambini is inspired by the following values: freedom, justice, truth, respect for others and solidarity.
