Skiatook Paws and Claws (SPACAR) is a foster‑based animal rescue that pulls adoptable dogs and cats from the local shelter system, places them in foster homes, and finds them permanent adoptive families. The organization also supports community programs (spay/neuter assistance, clinics and resource distribution) to reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare.

Homeward Bound WV, Inc., (formerly Friends of the four legged and furry) is a unique, non-profit organization dedicated to saving cats and dogs whose lives are in jeopardy and thereby enriching the lives of people in North Central West Virginia. We are a 100% foster organization.

Pawster's mission is to support people during times of crisis by providing compassionate, temporary care for their pets. When pet owners experience a temporary crisis (loss of housing, domestic violence, hospitalization, addiction, etc.), Pawster Nashville places their cat or dog in a loving foster home until the owner is back on their feet and ready to be reunited. This keeps pets out of shelters, and it keeps families together.
