Symphony Space's mission, as a pre-eminent multi-disciplinary performing arts center, is to offer artistic leadership that promotes innovation, excellence, engagement and accessibility to artists and audiences alike.

The Walden Woods Project was founded in 1990 to protect land of ecological and historic significance surrounding Walden Pond. At that time nearly half of the Walden Woods' 2,680 acres remained unprotected from development. Two large tracts of land (a total of 43 acres) were under immediate threat as developers sought to construct an office park and a large condominium complex in close proximity to Walden Pond. In January 1991, the Walden Woods Project raised enough money to buy the 25-acre Bear Garden Hill site. A few years later, the Project acquired a second parcel, known as Brister?s Hill. In 1998, the Walden Woods Project opened The Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods containing over 8,000 volumes and 60,000 items of Thoreau-related materials and launched its two trademark teacher education programs, Approaching Walden and Finding Walden.

The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts presents and creates excellent and innovative performing arts programs for the enrichment, education, and enjoyment of diverse audiences and participants. Our vision is to harness the power of the performing arts to enrich and change lives by extending the Wolf Trap experience of millions people worldwide.

The Close Up Foundation brings citizens from throughout the nation and around the world to Washington, D.C., for a firsthand look at the federal government and the development of public policy. A nonprofit, nonpartisan civic education organization, Close Up connects individuals of all ages to their communities and institutions through challenging education programs and products. By building partnerships with the education community, the private and philanthropic sectors, and all branches and levels of government, Close Up makes civic participation a dynamic and meaningful experience. Since its founding in 1970, Close Up has remained focused on the values of citizenship and the importance of an educated electorate, aware that democracy is a constantly renewing experience that must be taught and shared with each new generation. It has continued a strong organizational determination to make the democratic process available to students from every background, and places special emphasis on outreach to disadvantaged young people, with fellowship programs for low-income students, minority students, migrant students, recent immigrants, American Indians, Alaska Natives, the hearing and visually impaired, and other students with special needs.

Harmony's mission is to enrich the lives of adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities through the power of art, music, and community.

Cabrillo Music Theatre’s mission is to introduce the musical theatre experience directly to socially, culturally, and economically diverse and underserved populations in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

The primary mission of the Parents Television Council (PTC) is to protect children from graphic depictions of sex and violence on television, and to promote positive, family-oriented programming in broadcast and cable TV.

The Daniel Pearl Foundation promotes tolerance and understanding internationally through journalism, music and dialogue. Formed by Danny's family and friends to continue Danny's mission of connecting people through words and music, the Foundation addresses the root causes of the hatred that took his life through education and communication.  The Foundation brings journalists and editors from Muslim countries to U.S. newsrooms and uses the universal language of music to promote Harmony for Humanity through the Daniel Pearl World Music Days. Additionally, the Foundation conducts public Muslim- Jewish dialogue and features lectures by journalists and policy makers who contributed original analysis or constructive approaches to problems of national or international concern.

The mission of the Houston Museum of Natural Science shall be to preserve and advance the general knowledge of natural science; to enhance in individuals the knowledge of and delight in natural science and related subjects; and to maintain and promote a museum of the first class.

SAM provides a welcoming place for people to connect with art and to consider its relationship to their lives. SAM is one museum in three locations: Seattle Art Museum downtown; Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park; and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the downtown waterfront. SAM collects, preserves, and exhibits objects from across time and across cultures, exploring the dynamic connections between past and present.

The mission of DISCOVERY Children's Museum is to provide a vibrant and engaging experience, through exhibits and programs, where children from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds actively participate in playful learning activities that ignite a love of lifelong learning.

Grand Teton Music Festival was founded in 1962 by Jackson Hole Fine Arts Festival to foster classical music experiences for performers and audiences and to improve and enrich the cultural awareness and opportunities for people in Wyoming and the adjacent area.
