Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community. Homeboy Industries is a beacon of hope and opportunity for those seeking to leave gang life, for whom the barriers and challenges are great, and for whom there is virtually no other avenue to enter mainstream society.

The mission of Casting for Recovery (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR’s retreats are open to breast cancer survivors of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery, and are free to participants. On a physical level, the gentle, rhythmic motion of fly casting is similar to exercises often prescribed after surgery or radiation to promote soft tissue stretching. On an emotional level, women are given the opportunity to experience a new activity in a safe environment amongst a supportive group of peers. The retreats provide resources to help address quality of life issues after a breast cancer diagnosis, and a new outlet – fly fishing – as a reprieve from the everyday stresses and challenges of their cancer.

Operation Breakthrough's mission is to help children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving, and educational environment. Samaritan Hospice provides specialized medical care and emotional support for people facing serious and progressive illness in the comfort of their homes or other residences. Samaritan offers an interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, home health aides, spiritual support coordinators, bereavement counselors and volunteers to help patients and their families live as fully and comfortably as possible through individualized plans of symptom management and emotional support. Services are provided regardless of financial circumstances. Samaritan has been an innovative provider of hospice care since its inception in 1980. It is now one of the 15 largest providers of hospice care in the country. It has cared for more patients than any other hospice in the Middle Atlantic States and remains on the cutting edge of hospice care.
