Volunteers talk to foster parents, family members, social workers, attorneys, teachers, medical professionals, and therapists in an effort to learn as much as possible about the child's situation. CASA volunteers serve hundreds of court dependent children every year.
Latino Literacy Now is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in North San Diego County. The mission of the organization is to promote literacy in the community in all forms: reading, educational, financial, health, and community awareness. We strive to achieve this through partnerships with appropriate other organizations as well as with our own programs. To date, over one million people have been involved in some way with the organization’s programs which are divided among two main program areas: Author Programs, and Education and Literacy Programs.
The mission of Breast Cancer Angels is to provide immediate direct financial and emotional assistance for individuals and their families as they are going through breast cancer treatment. Breast Cancer Angels helps to address the ancillary needs of those who are currently in treatment. We provide food, supplies, gas, other day-to-day items, pro-bono legal services; along with medications, treatment costs and health insurance premiums. We also provide for costs associated with second opinions.

KITS’ Screenwriting and Filmmaking Program delivers comprehensive and therapeutic arts education/training, which has assisted our youth in mitigating their pain and finding their power; as well as securing entry level jobs, internships and post-secondary school admission. Each year culminates in an annual KITS Awards – our version of the "Academy Awards".

KYEA coordinates programs that build leadership, disability pride, and empowerment in youth with disabilities. We want youth with disabilities to thrive in life!
